The term “taco” stands for a maize tortilla. Made of wheat flour or corn, they usually fold around a certain filling, in our case, crabmeat. There are even some anthropological proofs that, initially, tacos were consumed with small fish, prior to enlarge so much the possibilities of fillings and various mixtures. The traditional fish taco is nowadays replaced with many other variants, including the crabmeat curls.

The crab Mexican recipe stands as a delicious appetizer and it needs the following ingredients:

  • 4 soft taco size flour tortillas
  • 6 oz. crab meat
  • 2 scallions or green onions chopped
  • 12 oz. soft cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp of fresh dill weed chopped
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce to taste

  • The preparation steps are quite easy to follow and the result will be amazing! First, take a food processor and blend in it the crab meat, the scallions or the onion, the cream cheese, the dill and the lemon juice, until they reach a smooth texture. Add then some Tabasco and blend again, furthermore season with salt and pepper. The mixture should be chilled for an hour, in order to allow the ingredients to blend completely and efficiently emanate their aroma, therefore use a refrigerator and leave them to cool. After one hour, spread the mixture evenly on the tortillas, roll them up and serve them with confidence and some creativity.
